The Devil's Crown

THE DEVIL'S CROWN (1978) is a 13-episode BBC Miniseries written by Jack Russell and Ken Taylor, telling the story of Eleanor of Aquitaine and the first three Plantagenet kings of England: Henry II, Richard I, and John.

It has never been properly released to the public for purchase or streaming, aside from in poor quality and dubbed in French on the French streaming service Madelen. It used to be available to watch uploaded to Youtube, but was copyright struck, leaving only the fourth episode, "The Hungry Falcons," available to watch there. Since then it has circulated mostly on various other shady streaming sites at uneven paces, or shared between individual TV and medieval era enthusiasts.

It is an extremely ambitious and unique work, featuring many talented actors bringing the era to life. The story is grim and brutal in many ways, but unusually for works around this era, displayed with great color and brilliance, and including lots of singing and musical elements.
